    Great Websites for Kids is a compilation of exemplary websites. Suggested sites are evaluated by a committee made up of members of the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association. The site says it is geared for ages birth-14, but I found many that could be used with high school as well.
    Hippocampus - a repository of high-quality multimedia learning objects and collections (including videos, animations and simulations) from The NROC Project, Khan Academy, PhET, SIATech, and others. Search a wide range of subjects, some of which have text book correlations. You can create an account to create a customized playlists.
    The Learning Network - educational resources based on the articles, photographs, videos, illustrations, podcasts and graphics published in The New York Times – all for free.
    The National Geographic Education Portal offers free geography, science, and social studies content resources for K-12 educators and learners. The award-winning Education Portal is recognized as one of the most innovative sources for educational and reference content.
    Teaching Resources Standards-based lessons and activities are searchable by grade, subject, and audience.

    for streamingmost subjects. My favorite resource is the "What's going on in your classroom, which explore science and technology themes and characters. Films rangethis picture?" feature. Each week, they show a picture from 4 to 33 minutes, averaging 20 minutes in length. Subjects include astronomy, biology, chemistry, ecology, evolution, genetics, mathematics, physics, psychology, technology,the news; students can closely look at the picture, talk about it, write about it, and even share their ideas on the history of science . Included with each film are possible questions to exploreblog. On Thursday, they show the caption and science resourcesthe article the picture went with. So many other features on this site!
