Getting started:

  1. Go to
  2. Select your school.
  3. Several search options are available in the left hand column.
    1. Library search
      1. Basic - This is the easiest way to search by material type, reading level, interest level and at the high school, lexile level.
      2. Visual - This is a nice option for very young students.
    2. Destiny Quest - This highly graphical interface is good if you want to get your students excited about reading. Students can write reviews and share what they have been reading. Other features include: a "you may also like..." section with suggestions of additional titles, and a "New Arrivals" and a "Top 10" list.
    3. Destiny Discover - This is a great option if your students are doing research. It is a very simple, student-friendly interface that gives results for a wide array of resources in one search: print materials, eBooks, databases (when logged in) and open educational resources (OER). Logging in: Log in to hold items, create resource lists, read e-books, see what you have checked out, create book reviews (Destiny Quest), search databases (Destiny Discover) and more!
  1. Teachers
    1. username: first.last (name)
    2. password: 5 digit copy number on the back of your ID
  2. Students
    1. username: first.last (ex. pam.hopkins)
    2. password: Uppercase first initial, lowercase last initial, student ID (ex. Ph123456)

Resource Lists:
  1. Create resource lists for your students or yourself.
    1. Go to Catalog > Resource Lists.
    2. Click Add List.
    3. Enter Your Name and Description for the List. You can always change either one.
    4. If you want other patrons to be able to view the List, select the "Make this list Public" check box. Clearing this check box makes the List private.
    5. When you're finished, click Save.
  2. Adding resources to your list
    1. Once you find results using Library Search (Basic, Power or Visual), look for the "Selected List" drop down menu in the upper right hand area of the screen.
    2. Select the appropriate list.
    3. You can add individual books to the list or the entire page.

To learn more about the title, click the picture or the link underneath it. The available information may include:
  • A large cover image
  • A summary
  • A note about the author
  • Journal reviews
  • First chapter or excerpt
